TRAINING
NBAA does not directly involve itself in training the candidates who sit for its
examinations, but it has allowed both public and private institutions to undertake
training of its candidates on its behalf.
The accountancy training institutions work very closely with the Board to ensure that
training delivery conforms to the requirements of the Board.
PREPARATION FOR THE NBAA EXAMINATIONS
NBAA encourages its examination candidates to pursue training before sitting for the
examinations. In training for the Board's examinations, there are different options
that a candidate can take; either on part time or full time basis depending on one's
choice:
Basic Training
Candidates must undergo basic training for a period of not less than nine (9) months in
preparations for the Board's examinations. This training ensures that adequate coverage of
the subject matter has been undertaken.
Review Programmes
Review programmes provide revision session to enhance the knowledge gained from the basic
training. The recognized Tuition Providers
offer such training. Tuition providers are institutions which conduct part-time training
which specifically prepares candidates to sit for the Board's examinations. Candidates are
strongly advised to enroll in the review class sessions before sitting for the Board's
examinations.
Full-Time Courses
Full-time courses provide structured training programmes resulting into a certificate,
diploma, or degree by the approved training institution on successful completion of the
programme. Such programmes are normally conducted by accountancy training institutions by applying the
institutional syllabi which is recognized by the Board and which result into exemption on
parts of the Boards Examination Levels.
