PROFESSIONAL REGISTERED MEMBERS AND FIRMS
There are two professional designations for fully
qualified members i.e. the Certified Public Accountants [CPAs] and
Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice [CPA-PPs]. CPAs are
accountants while CPA-PPs are auditors.
All CPA-PPs are accountants but not all accountants are CPA-PPs. Only CPA-PPs issued with certificates of practice may
practice in Tanzania. Auditors with foreign accounting
qualifications equivalent to the CPA(T) plus relevant experience may
also practice in Tanzania subject to registering themselves with NBAA
and being issued with a certificate of practice. See the current list of
