BACKGROUND
The National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) is a national accountancy professional body established under the Auditors and Accountants (Registration) Act. No. 33 of 1972, as amended by Act No. 2 of 1995. It is an accountancy regulatory professional body, operating under the Ministry of Finance

‘To meet the challenges of the market by ensuring, that its members and students are equipped with the relevant knowledge and skills to the best international standards’.

MISSION
NBAA is a regulatory accountancy body committed to the continuous transformation of the accounting profession in Tanzania through development, promotion and good conduct.
This will be accomplished through:
•    Setting high quality standards for the profession
•    Regulating registration of members and students
•    Monitoring accountancy training and conducting professional examinations
•    Regulating the conduct of members and students
•    Providing continued professional development programmes to enhance
      member’s professional knowledge and skills.
